On October 11, 2024, EUC World 2.50.0 app update was released. The most exciting new feature in this version is the support for Engo smart glasses (as well as other models compatible with ActiveLook® technology). In addition, support for the latest Begode wheels was added, the charging control function was improved, and several minor enhancements, fixes, and new features were introduced.

Support for Engo smart glasses

EUC World is an incredibly versatile app with a core focus on enhancing rider awareness and safety. Even if you’re using the app alone, it offers not just a clear display of key data but also sound and vibration alarms, as well as voice warnings and notifications. Pairing your phone with a Bluetooth headset, Bluetooth in-helmet communication set or a Bluetooth speaker built into your wheel ensures that all alarms and warnings are clearly audible, even in the wind during fast rides or amid street noise. More, if you own a Garmin smartwatch or a Wear OS smartwatch, you can get vibration alerts, and a quick glance at your watch will be enough to monitor your wheel’s key parameters.

But from now on, you can also pair your EUC World app with Engo smart glasses to get uninterrupted access to essential data without taking your eyes off the road. Now you can feel like a fighter jet pilot, as the smart glasses provide extensive and customizable HUD functionality, elevating your situational awareness to a completely new level. Although it’s only been a few days since the new update was released, early user feedback has been highly enthusiastic. Personally, I can’t imagine riding without Engo glasses anymore. Unlike other smart glasses available on the market, Engo looks just like regular cycling glasses and weighs the same. The battery lasts at least 8-10 hours of continuous use (confirmed in extensive tests), and the screen is visible in all lighting conditions without interfering with your view of the road and surroundings. Despite their substantial cost, these glasses are still more affordable than other smart glasses on the market. The Engo’s 2 photochromic lenses are completely transparent at night or on cloudy days (cat. 0-3), making them usable 24/7 in any conditions. The features offered by the HUD function will be most beneficial for extreme riders and long-distance riders. It’s also an ideal solution for “data nerds” or other riders who, in every situation, want easy and direct access to various metrics of their unicycle.

Detailed information about this feature, along with an extensive review of Engo 2 smart glasses, will be published in a separate article on the EUC World Blog at the end of October.

Improved charging control

Did you know that EUC World can control the charging process of your unicycle without the need for a smart charger? All you need is any charger (like original charged bundled with your wheel) and Shelly Plug or TP-Link HS110 smart plug. By connecting the app to the smart plug, which your charger is plugged into, you can monitor and log the charging process, and disconnect the charger once the battery is full, preventing overcharging and avoiding premature battery wear. You can also set a specific charge level, and once it’s reached, charging will stop. As of this update, EUC World also allows charging to end once the battery reaches a specific voltage.

Support for new Begode wheels

Begode is a „leader” in releasing new wheels to the market. Therefore, EUC World updates also often serve to add support for these models and improve support for previously added models. This time, EUC World has gained full support for the Begode X-Way and Blitz, and Smart BMS support has been added for the ET Max model. It’s worth recalling the Smart BMS enhancements added in the previous EUC World update.

Organized data and event logs

While running, EUC World can log various data that may be useful later. EUC data logs allow for detailed analysis of wheel performance, making it easier to spot problems or rider errors. Charging logs help analyze battery condition. Radar logs contain information about all objects detected by the radar during a ride. Event logs contain information recorded by the wheel’s “black box.” From this update onward, all these logs are saved in separate folders, making it easier to organize and find the necessary records. Additionally, the logs section in your EUC World account has been expanded. You can now use filtering features that make searching for specific data much easier. Event log synchronization with your EUC World account is now also available starting from version 2.50.0. It’s worth noting that data synchronization is only available to Premium users.

Introduction of smart glasses support was made possible thanks to the generous support of Eunicycles, a Polish retailer of electric unicycles, operating on the European Union market for many years. Richard, the owner of the company, is well-known in our community for his professionalism, honesty, and dedication. Eunicycles offers not only brand new wheels with full warranty but also spare parts and accessories. They also provide a consignment sale of used wheels, as well as warranty and post-warranty service, solving most complex technical problems. From now on, you can also purchase Engo 2 glasses from Eunicycles.
